This is approximately Level 5/Level 6 Programme which means that learners are expected to work at a level equivalent to the first year of a degree course (IE above A-level). This involves writing in an academic style including using referencing, showing some evidence of critical thought and the ability to reflect on learning/one’s own practice.
We can signpost to resources, but it will be your responsibility as a learner to attain the requisite level of knowledge and to produce work at Level 5.
Learners would also be expected to have an adequate level of background knowledge and interest in mental health issues / and skills or curiosity in learning about Group Facilitation in order to undertake this Prof Cert. This does not need to be at an advanced level, but it would be helpful to have a good understanding of human psychology, mental health issues, psychotherapy, group dynamics and facilitation as well as medical and non-medical therapeutic inputs.
It would also be helpful to have (or seek to gain) some experience in Group Facilitation. Different learners will have different levels of knowledge and experience (and different needs) in their practice. A doctor will have a different level of knowledge to a social worker or a Health Coach.
Each learner can decide for themselves what they need to learn more about in order to reach an appropriate level of learning for their practice. Some of the educational material is pitched more at clinicians/therapists and some of the tutors are clinicians and therapists but they will tailor their input to the level/expertise of the learner body.

There is no requirement to gain experiential knowledge of a psychedelic state in order to complete this course. However, many learners will be keen to have a psychedelic ‘trip’/’experience’ to complement their academic learning.
We fully support learners in this and can signpost learners to legal Psychedelic Retreats in the Netherlands. We hope to be able to host a legal Psychedelic Retreat in the Netherlands with colleagues in an approved organisation (where many of the Tutors on this course are also Facilitators).
Retreat costs held with our sister organisation are:
5-day retreat
2 x trip format, costing approx. £2,5003-day retreat
1 x trip format, costing approx. £1,800.Both retreats are comparable in cost and format to other psychedelic retreats in the Netherlands.

If you want to go on to follow this course with further Apprenticeship Training, attending a Psychedelic or a Breathwork Retreat, is a mandatory pre-requisite. Please discuss this with the Tutor team if you have any questions or concerns.
The Apprenticeship has a greater focus on skills development and would involve closely observed facilitation of people in non-ordinary states and observed facilitation of psychedelic experiences in legal contexts.
